Welcome to ‘Older Not Over’. A newsletter and community for those who thought it was too late to change their career or to embark on a new adventure later in life.
“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” — George Eliot
This is a personal project I started working on in early 2019. A collection of stories, interviews and resources that I had been collecting to share at a later date. Originally titled ‘38 Not Too Late’ I was fast approaching 40 and after a multitude of life events, I began to reflect on my own life choices and became hugely curious of those who made changes to their lives in the second half of their lifetime.
Fast forward to 2020 and the world is now enduring a set of Covid-19 challenges unparalleled in peacetime. I’ve come across countless tweets like the one below of people now faced with making changes to their own life, pivoting in careers or using this time as an opportunity to make the leap to something new. I hope ‘Older Not Over’ inspires those on a new road.

There is never the perfect moment to begin any project but this felt like the right time to start sharing these stories and conversations. The format of the newsletter each week will include a podcast with an incredible individual who has made a major change in their life with real-world advice on how they did it. I’ll also share a selection of links to articles, books and talks that I hope will inspire and help you on your way.

The first newsletter will be out August 3rd so subscribe below now for free so you don’t miss my conversation with guest Lee Child, the author of the Jack Reacher series of novels. Lee has sold more than 100 million books after embarking on a career as a novelist late in life at 40. It’s a really fascinating story about how it all came about.
Until then, stay safe and chat soon!
